1. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.

2. The library and computer room shall be maintained as places of study at all times. Any activity, which hinders the usefulness of the library or the computer room as a place of study, must be terminated upon request of an active resident member wishing to use these facilities as a place of study.

3. The Summer and regular Senior Monitors may, with the advice of the Professor-in-Residence, allow members to keep keys to their rooms over the summer. Those members keeping their keys shall be charged a deposit of $10.00, which may act as payment on the next semester's Assembly fee.

4. No officer shall receive remuneration for services rendered in the line of duty unless it is in the form of an award presented by the Assembly for outstanding performance benefiting the Assembly.

5. Awards:

  • a. The Mallet Award of Achievement shall be awarded at the spring elections meeting to the graduating senior who has best exemplified the goals of the Mallet Assembly--achievement, leadership, scholarship, and personal growth.
  • b. The Malleteer of the Year Award shall be awarded at the spring elections meeting to the member of the Assembly who, during the past year, made the most significant contributions to the quality of life in the Mallet Assembly and best exemplified the spirit of the program.
  • c. The Jimmy C. Gates Memorial Sports Award shall be awarded at the spring elections meeting to the member of the Assembly who, during the past year, made the most significant contributions to the program's athletic teams in terms of participation, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship.
  • d. The Most Outstanding Freshman Award shall be awarded to the freshman in the program that most exemplifies the spirit of Mallet.

6. Those individuals associated with the Assembly who are not members may achieve the status of an affiliate of the program by receiving the sponsorship of three active Malleteers and/or the Admissions Committee Chairman, and paying a fee to the assembly equal to half of the base assembly fee for the semester. This status of affiliate will entitle the designated individual to participate in any Mallet functions, to purchase Mallet jerseys, and to speak at Assembly meetings, but not vote. The associate membership shall carry with it a minimum grade point average of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale.

7. An applicant may apply for entrance into the Assembly only three times during one semester. Any attempts to apply after the third application will be immediately and automatically rejected.

8. A non-active member can pay an activity fee equal to half of the base Assembly fee for the semester to participate in any Mallet functions but not vote.

9. Before Assembly fees are due each semester, a member of the Assembly is considered to be an active member if they reside in the building or if they paid Assembly fees the previous semester. After this time, only members who have paid Assembly fees for the current semester are considered active members.
